Baked Brie With Cranberry Sauce and Orange Zest

This appetizer has all those good things about

Cranberries and uses cranberry sauce

This is a good reason to make a little extra for Thanksgiving dinner. Better yet, double the recipe. People love these things.

Instructions
Step One
Preheat the oven to  425
° F. Peel or cut off the top rind of the Brie and scrape off a small amount of the cheese to create a shallow well in the center. Place the cheese in a small pie dish. (If you plan to transfer the cheese to a serving dish after baking, line the pie with parchment paper.)

Step Two
Mix the cranberry sauce, brown sugar, vanilla, cream, and nutmeg. Cover the Brie with this cranberry mixture and sprinkle with hazelnuts.

Step Three
Bake for 8-12 minutes or until the fruit is bubbling and the cheese is gooey. Is a delicate process, and cooking time may vary. The goal is to remove the cheese after it has softened, but just before it collapses into a mass.

Step Four
Put baking paper on top and carefully slide the cheese with a spatula onto an ideal serving plate if you want. Garnish with a twig of rosemary and serve immediately with crackers.

Ingredients

  • 8-ounce round brie cheese, at room temperature
