One (1) (2-pound) 2nd-cut brisket, trimmed of fat
One (1) tablespoon of garlic powder
Half 1/2 tablespoon of onion powder
Half 1/2 tablespoon paprika
One (1) teaspoon of kosher salt
Half 1/2 teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper
1-ounce apple cider vinegar
3-ounces ketchup
3-ounces brown sugar, packed
3-ounces water
One (1) large onion, sliced thin
Three (3) cloves of garlic, minced
One (1) bay leaves


  1. In a small bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, kosher salt, and black pepper.
  2. Rub this mixture all over the 2nd cut brisket and place the 2nd cut brisket in your slow cooker or crockpot.
  3. Mix the apple cider vinegar, ketchup, brown sugar, and water together in a separate dish.
  4. Mix well and add to the crockpot.
  5. Add the onion, garlic, and bay leaves to the slow cooker or crockpot.
