Ingredients:
One (1) (2-pound) 2nd-cut brisket, trimmed of fat
One (1) tablespoon of garlic powder
Half 1/2 tablespoon of onion powder
Half 1/2 tablespoon paprika
One (1) teaspoon of kosher salt
Half 1/2 teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper
1-ounce apple cider vinegar
3-ounces ketchup
3-ounces brown sugar, packed
3-ounces water
One (1) large onion, sliced thin
Three (3) cloves of garlic, minced
One (1) bay leaves
Preparation:
- In a small bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, kosher salt, and black pepper.
- Rub this mixture all over the 2nd cut brisket and place the 2nd cut brisket in your slow cooker or crockpot.
- Mix the apple cider vinegar, ketchup, brown sugar, and water together in a separate dish.
- Mix well and add to the crockpot.
- Add the onion, garlic, and bay leaves to the slow cooker or crockpot.
- Slow cook for 4-5 hours (high heat) or 8-10 hours (low heat) until the 2nd cut brisket is fork-tender.
- Remove meat from the crockpot and thinly cut across the grain, and return to the pan juices.
